Srinagar, Jan 17: Hundreds of devotees gathered at Gurdwara Chatti Padshahi in Srinagar to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s birthday.
On the auspicious occasion, the devotees held special prayers for the snowfall and rain amidst the prolonged dry spell in the Kashmir valley.
The atmosphere at the Gurdwara was filled with joy and spiritual fervor as devotees from different walks of life came together to honor the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru.
Amidst the faithful engaged in prayers and hymns, the devotees sought blessings for prosperity, peace and unity.
The distinctive aspect of this celebration was the collective hope for snowfall and a wet spell, phenomena deeply associated with the winter season in Kashmir, which will also relieve the dry spell.
The devotee, said celebrating Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s birthday is a moment of great joy and reflection, adding that they also prayed for snow and a wet spell in Kashmir.
A local said, “In the prayers, we find solace and unity.”
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V K Birdi, along with other officials, visited the Gurudwara in Rainawari.
They paid obeisance there, extending wishes to everyone on the occasion of Gurpurab.
