Rising Cyber threats in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir has continued to witness the norm violations when it comes to the traffic rules and regulations as the Union Territory has witnessed a lot of accidents due to the violations, leading to the loss of precious lives. Similarly, Boniyar area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla has also witnessed a fatal road accident Wednesday, claiming the lives of eight passengers, who were travelling in a Tata Sumo vehicle. It has been reported that eight people have died while seven others were injured in the accident, indicating that the vehicle was overloaded when it met with an accident. The traffic norm violations are among the major reasons for the road accidents that need to be dealt with strictly as per the law, which would help in reducing the number of road accidents in Jammu & Kashmir. In Surankote area of Poonch, the authorities have seized a passenger vehicle after it was found violating the norms by carrying over 20 passengers while a case has also been registered against the driver for violating the rules. However, such an action needs to be taken by the concerned authorities across Jammu & Kashmir so that the people adhere to the traffic norms in letter and spirit. The traffic authorities should launch a massive drive in this regard and ensure that nobody is allowed to violate the rules and regulations so that the number of accidents would also reduce in Jammu & Kashmir.
