Three siblings charred to death in Ramban blaze

Ramban, Feb 12: Three teenage sisters were charred to death in an overnight blaze at a remote village in Ramsoo-sub division of Ramban district, an official said on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary said that an unfortunate fire incident took place overnight at Tajnihal area of Ukherhal tehsil in which three siblings died.
“Three sisters were asleep in the house, which caught fire in the night and all of them burnt alive,” he said, adding that the house has also been damaged in the incident.
DC said the district administration has provided an immediate relief of Rs 3 lakh to the aggrieved family, further compensation and support will be provided as per the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) norms.
The deceased have been identified as Bisma Jan (14), Saika Jan (12) and Saniya Jan (16)—all daughters of Abdul Latief Lone of Tajnihal village in Ramban, the officials said, adding that the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, Democratic Azad Progressive Party Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
In a post on X, Azad wrote, “My deepest condolences to the family of the three sisters who tragically lost their lives in a devastating fire incident last night in Tajnihal Danmasta area of Ramsoo Banihal. Urging the government to provide compensation and support to the grieving family during this difficult time!”
National Conference (NC) President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice-president Omar Abdullah express profound shock and sorrow upon learning of the tragic demise of three minor sisters in a devastating fire in Ramsoo area of Ramban district.
They extended heartfelt condolences and prayers to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
Furthermore, District President Ramban and CI Banihal Sajjad Shaheen join in expressing deep sorrow and urge the administration to swiftly provide ample compensation and assistance to the affected family.”
Apni Party President, Altaf Bukhari, said, “My heartfelt condolences to the grieving family of Saniya, Bisma and Saika – the three sisters who tragically lost their lives in the Ramban fire incident. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow! I earnestly request the Deputy Commissioner Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary Sahab for release of swift and comprehensive compensation to support the bereaved family during this difficult time. May Almighty Allah bless the young souls with the highest place in Jannah and patience to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.”
Similarly Congress J&K Chief, Vikar Rasool Wani posted on X, “I respectfully express my deepest sympathies to the family and the entire village of Tajnihaal, Danmasta, Banihal. It is truly regrettable and profoundly distressing that 3 young daughters of Abdul Latif Lone tragically lost their lives in a devastating house fire incident. May the divine grant the family the strength to endure this irreplaceable loss, whilst I also urge the authorities to extend essential aid to the grieving family.”
