Pulwama terror attack anniversary: Modi, Shah, Rahul, Sinha pay tributes to fallen CRPF men

Srinagar, Feb 14: Rich tributes were paid to 40 CRPF men who laid their lives in a deadly suicide attack on this day five years ago at Lethpora Pulwama.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha and beyond the realm of politics, the cricketing fraternity, and others joined in paying respects to the fallen soldiers.
“I pay homage to the brave heroes who were martyred in Pulwama. Their service and sacrifice for our nation will always be remembered,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on X, formerly known as twitter.
Home Minister Amit Shah wrote on X that “I bow to the valorous martyrs of Pulwama, who laid down their lives for our motherland. Their supreme sacrifice will always be remembered. Nation will forever remain indebted to our bravehearts.”
“Humble tributes to the bravehearts who sacrificed their lives in 2019 Pulwama terror attack. The nation will forever remain indebted to their exemplary courage, supreme sacrifice, and selfless service to the motherland,” the office of LG Manoj Sinha wrote on X.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated that “Hundreds of salutes and humble tribute to the brave martyrs of Pulwama terrorist attack. The country will always be indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice dedicated to the defence of India.”
“Today we stand in solemn remembrance of our nation’s brave hearts who we lost in the #PulwamaTerrorAttack. Their valour and sacrifice will always be remembered and their legacy of selfless courage will inspire generations of proud Indians,” Tweeted Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
“Honouring the memory of the brave souls who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten,” Indian Cricket K L Rahul Tweeted. J&K DGP RR Swain and IGP Kashmir V K Bhirdi also paid rich tributes to the fallen bravehearts. The sacrifices of CRPF personnel will forever be etched in our hearts. As we remember these heroes, let’s renew our commitment to securing peace, “DGP said in a statement.
While quoting IGP Kashmir, Kashmir Zone Police posted on X, “Today, we solemnly remember the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2019 Pulwama terror attack. Their bravery echoes through time, inspiring us to renew our commitment for establishing peace. Let’s honor their valour & sacrifice by striving for violence free nation.”
BJP leader Altaf Thakur and others visited the incident site at Lethpora to pay floral tributes to the fallen CRPF men.
On February 14, 2019, CRPF convoy was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora in the Pulwama district resulting in the death of 40 CRPF men.
