Srinagar, Feb 23: Former MLC Vibodh Gupta on Friday said that he never said that Muzaffar Hussain Baig would be their candidate or will be backed by Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in Lok Sabha polls from Baramulla segment.
Gupta said that he had never said that BJP would support or field Baig as its candidate. “Who am I to decide on candidates? It is decided by the party’s Parliamentary Board in New Delhi,” he said, adding that he has only praised Baig.
Notably, in a U-turn on February 20, Baig said that he was not associated with PDP after he announced on January 07 that he had never quit the party, but was inactive from the party for sometime. (KNO)
