A decade of Digital India

Ahead of the forthcoming holy month Ramadhan, the preparations are in full swing across Jammu and Kashmir with the administration directing the line departments to ensure adequate electricity and drinking water supply during the month. The district administrations have held multiple meetings so far, asking the PDD officials and Jal Shakti department to take concrete measures to ensure the Muslim population will not face any hardships. However, in the previous year’s holy month, the people have complained of inadequate electricity especially during the Sehri times as they faced irregular power cuts, which pushed them to the wall. This year, the government has claimed to have adequate measures to improve the supply of basic facilities to the people, but the line departments need to take adequate measures this time to ensure that there is no irregular power cuts or any disruption in supplying the drinking water to the people so that the Muslim populace here could heave a sigh of relief. The holy month is expected to begin from the next week and all the arrangements should be finalized well on time so that the people will not suffer. Besides ensuring basic facilities, the departments should also ensure that the rates of essentials are adhered to strictly and any violation in this regard should be dealt with strictly as per the law. The Muslim populace must be provided a suitable atmosphere this month so that their prayers and fasts are not affected in any way. The departments concerned should gear up and make elaborate arrangements for the holy month for the wellbeing of the people.
