Sopore, Mar 20: A family here in north Kashmir’s Sopore alleged murder of their beloved son after his body was recovered under mysterious conditions from the orchards while the Police have started investigation into the matter.
An official said that a body has been recovered under mysterious conditions from Duroo orchards, and was subsequently taken to Sub District Hospital, Sopore.
Following the legal-medico formalities, the body was handed over to the family for the last rites, officials said, adding that the investigations related to the incident are going on in full swing.
The deceased was identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Mir son of Ghulam Rasool Mir of Duroo Sopore.
Mir, who has left behind five children, three daughters and two sons, went missing in the evening hours and subsequently police were informed following which the search operation was launched, said the deceased’s brother Mohammed Rafi.
Those who killed him are not humans but beasts and they should be taken to task, he said.
While thanking the relentless efforts of Police especially SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Ahmed, SHO Sopore Nissar Ahmed and DO Warpora Bilal Rashid, Mir said that they left no stone unturned to trace his brother, however, he hoped that police will bring the murderers to task.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) Sopore, Divya D (IPS) while speaking to the reporters said that they received a missing complaint from family and instantly multiple search teams were formed led by SDPO Sopore, SHO Sopore and DO Warpora.
The searches were followed whole night and the body was recovered this morning near the deceased’s home, she said, adding that the deceased had multiple head injuries.
“During the course of investigations, two suspects were picked up for questioning and are currently under custody,” SP said, adding that “we didn’t find any terror angle in this case but it seems more a personal one during preliminary investigations. We are on it and investigations are going on in full swing”, Divya said.
