BJP snubs PAC demand for restoration of Art 370

Srinagar, Mar 31: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Sunday said centralised power in the hands of a few bureaucrats in Jammu and Kashmir have left people of J&K frustrated.
This he said while addressing a series of workers meetings at Zoonimar and Gilikadal in Zadibal constituency and Shaltaing in Batamaloo constituency. The workers’ meetings in Zoonimar was convened by Chief Spokesperson and In Charge Constituency Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, whereas workers’ meeting in Shalteng was convened by Central Secretary and I/C Shalteng-Batamaloo Irfan Shah.
Among others senior party leaders including Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi, Shameema Firdous; District President Srinagar Peer Afaq Ahmad, Provincial President women’s wing Er. Sabiya Qadri, local unit functionaries were also present in the meetings.
“Kashmiris are perhaps stunned by the manner in which the ruling party has stifled the calls for accountability & merely paying lip service to the idea of ending the slow erosion of citizens’ fundamental rights. As democracy remains suspended and J&K continues to sink deeper into a deep chasm of uncertainty induced by unresponsive administration. Nothing exemplifies the failure of ruling BJP more succinctly than the political skullduggery involving the Election Commission of India and the government of India over announcing the schedule of holding assembly elections with the upcoming parliament elections. Far from normalising Jammu and Kashmir, the situation has only gotten more uncertain in the past five years. The anger is seeping underground and it will come out on the voting day when our people cutting across religious & regional lines will speak against BJP and its policies in a resolute voice,” Sagar said addressing the functionaries.
Asking people to make BJP, its local teams bite dust in Lok Sabha Elections, Sagar said, “Hollow slogans and vested interests are the hallmark of BJP and its subsidiary parties. These teams are in an undercover league with BJP and are providing all tactical support to it further destroying Kashmir. These local teams of BJP have sold their conscience and interests of the people to its New Delhi mentors but they should know that people won’t allow anyone to barter their dignity. People of Jammu and Kashmir will not allow it to happen again, they will make the BJP its local henchmen to bite the dust both in the current Lok Sabha Elections and in ensuing Assembly polls.”
