Hundreds of commuters pass through the busiest roads in Srinagar, but what lands them in trouble is the potholed roads in almost every market and area. It is unfortunate that the roads that have been redesigned in Srinagar, especially at Jahangir Chowk, have been dug once again for some developmental works, which has been pushing the commuters to the wall. It is notable to mention here that thousands of vehicles pass through this road on a regular basis, but since work has been taken in the area, the people are being forced to spend almost half an hour in the traffic mess, which has become a new norm for commuters nowadays. It takes almost half an hour to travel on a few meters of road stretch, but nobody seems ready to listen to the pleas of the common masses, who have been travelling on these routes on a daily basis to reach their offices, schools or other destinations. One needs to understand why the developmental works have not been completed in one go as leaving the people to lurch from time to time is ultimately affecting the smooth passage of the vehicular movement. The administration should take note of such issues and ensure that those involved in lethargy are dealt with strictly. Besides, the works that have been taken up now should be completed within the shortest possible time so that the people, especially the commuters here could heave a sigh of relief.
