The Indian Premier League (IPL) presently going on has turned out to be the most attractive league amongst the cricket enthusiastic across the globe where the players from across the world are playing in different teams. Similarly, a young lad from south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, Rasikh Salam Dar, is also catching the eyes of the people worldwide as he has been able to get nearly one dozen wickets in just a couple of matches he has played so far. Playing for Delhi Capitals, Rasikh is providing his ability and skills with the top class cricketers from across the world, which is a proof that the Kashmiri too have the enough skills and can compete with the youngsters from different nations and states as well. Besides Rasikh, there are a few youngsters too in the IPL from Jammu & Kashmir, who have been showcasing their skills. Therefore, proving their mettle in the middle of the field is putting the responsibility on the administration to further augment the sports infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir and organize the leagues and tournaments in the Union Territory to provide a platform to the youngsters to showcase their skills and flourish their talent further. Therefore, in order to further boost the morale of J&K youth, the government should come up with the training centres to bring more and more youngsters to prove their mettle, which will pave the way for the younger generation to opt sports, especially cricket as their career in the times to come.
