Srinagar, May 15: A forest fire broke out early Wednesday morning near the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar upazila of Poonch district, Jammu division. The rising smoke from the blaze is visible from miles away, causing concern among local residents and authorities.
Reports said that the fire originated in the forests across the LoC in the area held by Pakistan and has been gradually spreading towards Indian territory. The situation has prompted immediate action from both the Army and the Forest Department, who are working tirelessly to control and contain the fire.
