Anantnag witnesses tourism boom

Anantnag, Jun 20: Dr. Azia Manzoor Bhat, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at GMC Anantnag, has been designated as the State Level Nodal Officer for the Kashmir division to oversee the implementation of MedLEaPR, a Government of India initiative.
In her new role, Dr. Bhat will supervise the deployment of this software and train doctors and health institutes in the Kashmir Division to ensure its successful adoption.
MedLEaPR (Medico Legal Examination and Postmortem Report System) is an innovative software developed by NIC Haryana to facilitate the digitalization of Medico-Legal Reports (MLRs) and Postmortem Reports (PMRs), a statement issued reads.
This workflow-based system provides the necessary access security based on the roles and responsibilities of the involved doctors and health institutes. Traditionally, medico-legal and postmortem reports have been handwritten, leading to illegible documentation that poses significant challenges for courts, prosecution, and defense during trials. The introduction of MedLEaPR aims to resolve these issues by offering clear and accessible digital documentation.
Under the directives of the esteemed Administrative Secretary, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid (IAS), the Health & Medical Education Department, in collaboration with NIC Jammu and Kashmir, has appointed two state-level nodal officers—one for the Kashmir Division and one for the Jammu Division—to implement this Government of India initiative across the state.
The responsibilities of the nodal officers include liaising with NIC and other institutes/agencies for the development and execution of the MedLEaPR web portal on behalf of the Health & Medical Education Department.
Training and assisting other doctors and health institutes within the department for the MedLEaPR project, undertaking any additional assignments that may arise during the implementation of the project, submitting weekly progress reports regarding the project to the Administrative Department are among the other responsibilities, the statement reads.
This structured approach will ensure the efficient implementation of the MedLEaPR project, thereby improving the clarity and accessibility of medico-legal documentation across Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof. (Dr.) Rukhsana Najeeb, Principal of GMC Anantnag, congratulated Dr. Azia Manzoor Bhat on his nomination as the Nodal Officer for the Kashmir Division for the implementation of this pivotal project. She expressed that it is a matter of prestige and pride for GMC Anantnag to have Dr. Bhat in such a crucial role. (KNO)
