Eid-ul-Adha in Kashmir: A festive blend of faith, culture, community spirit

The people observed the International Day against Drug Abuse by organizing events and rallies to woo the elimination of drug abuse from society. However, these rallies and events barely will have an impact on the ground as there is a need to work in unison at all the platforms to end the menace and save thousands of youth from falling prey to the drugs. The people from time to time raised their voice against the rising drug abuse here, but when it comes to the ground work, only a few are playing their role to help the government in eliminating the menace, which will never help to ensure the drug-free Jammu & Kashmir. The society needs to understand that the collective efforts are imperative to achieve the goal and remaining confined to organizing the events will not help the cause in any way. There is a need to start a joint ground work in this regard by creating awareness as well as providing different platforms to the youngsters so that they will never fall prey to drug abuse throughout their life. Therefore, every single individual has the responsibility to play their role in achieving the goal of drug-free J&K. Meeting the youngsters and involving them in sports or other events will help them save their future and also stay healthy amidst the rising cases of drug abuse. The government should also encourage the common masses to provide the facilities and platforms to the youngsters so that the healthy Jammu & Kashmir is ensured.
