Bandipora, Jul 18: Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, on Thursday held a Mega Public Darbar at Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Bandipora.
Chairperson District Development Council Bandipora, Abdul Gani Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Shakeel ul Rehman, SSP Lakshay Sharma, Vice Chairperson DDC, Kousar Shafeeq, DDC members, ADDC Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt, ADC Umar Shafi Pandit, ACR Bandipora Shabir Ahmad Wani, CPO Mohammad Maqbool, CMO Dr. Rafi Ahmad Salathi, other senior officers of District Administration besides Civil Society Members and representatives of various delegations were present on the occasion.
The DDC members, ex-BDC members, and representatives of civil society presented various issues to the secretary, including the augmentation of infrastructure and human resources in health, education and other sectors, besides a host of other issues of public importance including enhancement of intake capacity in Gujjar Bakerwal Hostel from 50 to 100, establishment of Women’s Degree College & establishment of Mini Secretariat at Sumbal.
On the occasion, Chairperson DDC Ab Gani Bhat also raised the issues of public importance.
Responding to the issues and grievances put forward, Dr. Abid Rasheed assured that all genuine issues would be prioritised and resolved promptly.
Secretary Health assured meticulous follow-up on all genuine issues and stated that some grievances would be resolved at the district level, while those requiring higher-level administrative intervention would be forwarded to concerned administrative departments appropriately.
Dr. Abid Rasheed emphasized that the LG Administration is committed to listening to the public at the grassroots level and resolving grievances directly at the public’s doorstep.
Later, Secretary Health also visited District Hospital Bandipora to take firsthand appraisal of healthcare facilities. He toured various wards and sections, including the drug counter, Emergency ward, X-ray, ECG, and other examination units, and interacted with patients to gather feedback on the services provided. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, SSP, and ADC.
He said all issues, like resources augmentation and infrastructural issues will be addressed on priority in coordination with district administration.
Earlier, the Secretary inspected stalls set up by different departments in the lawns of Mini Secretariat Bandipora, showcasing government schemes and programmes.
