Srinagar, Jul 29: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of PP Soibugh at a checkpoint established near PP Soibugh intercepted a vehicle (Piaggio Auto) bearing registration number JK01AL-4083 driven by Hilal Ahmad Dagga son of Mohd Ramzan Dagga resident of Mahjoor Nagar Rose Line Colony Rambagh Sgr A/P Kenihama Nowgam Srinagar. During search, 14 Kgs of Poppy Straw were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 309/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Budgam and further investigation has been initiated.
