Srinagar, Jul 31: The Tourism Department is all set to host the much-anticipated Gurez Festival on August 7, promising a vibrant showcase of the region’s rich culture and natural beauty.
This year’s festival will feature an exciting lineup of activities, with polo matches, traditional folk dance performances, and thrilling kayaking adventures on the Kishanganga River as the main attractions.
Held in the picturesque Gurez Valley, the festival aims to boost tourism and highlight the unique heritage of the region.
The event is expected to draw both local and international visitors, offering them a chance to experience the serene landscapes, warm hospitality, and diverse cultural traditions of Gurez.
“Preparations are in full swing, with the Tourism Department ensuring all necessary arrangements for a successful and memorable event. The Gurez Festival is set to be a vibrant celebration, capturing the essence of the valley and offering visitors an unforgettable experience,” a tourism official said.
The festival is being held every year and scores of the tourists participate in the festival to explore the local culture.
“I visited Gurez twice and believe me the beauty here is spellbound. This year I am participating in the Gurez festival and will take part in a range of activities,” said Rahul Mehta, a tourist from West Bengal.
