In past four years, SED fails to utilize full funds allocated under Revex budget

Srinagar, Jul 30: In the past four years, the School Education Department (SED) has not utilized full funds allocated under the Revex budget for the elementary and secondary level education.
According to the official figures, in the fiscal 2020-21, under the Revex budget a total of Rs 224027.73 lakh were allocated for the elementary education and Rs 194950.96 lakh for secondary level education out of which only Rs 210502.12 Lakhs and Rs 161246.67 Lakhs were utilized in both elementary and secondary level education on the account of salary and administrative expenses.
The figures reveal that in the year 2021-22, a total of 230413.75 Lakhs and 213576.46 Lakhs were allotted to the department out of which only Rs 226533.35 Lakhs and 186743.39 Lakhs were utilized by the department at all levels.
It also states that in the year 2022-2023, the department was allocated with Rs 262777.61 Lakhs and Rs 218079 Lakhs out of which it utilized only Rs 257062.91 and Rs 206626.51 Lakhs respectively.
The official figures further reveal that the School Education Department was allocated with Rs 281102.35 Lakhs and Rs 223962.05 Lakhs in the year 2023-24 out of which it had utilized only Rs 275307.50 Lakhs and Rs 215937.97 respectively under the Revex budget.
