Srinagar, Aug 6: Jammu and Kashmir Police Tuesday took cognisance of a sexual assault incident on a minor student upon written information by the administrative authority of a particular school.
The Srinagar police said that it has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of POSCO Act.
Taking to the micro blogging site, X, Srinagar Police said, “Police has taken cognizance upon written information by the administrative authority of a particular school regarding sexual assault on a minor student. Case FIR 44/2024 under relevant sections of POCSO Act stands registered at PS Kothibagh & investigation has been taken up.” (SIC)
Pertinently, on Monday, several social media posts were being circulated across different platforms—highlighting the alleged sexual assault on a minor student in one of the premier educational institution of Srinagar.
The social media posts allege that two students of one of the private schools in Srinagar were sexually assaulting and threatening their classmate for a long time.
Following the alleged incident, the netizens expressed anger and concern about their wards studying in different schools of Kashmir.
The netizens were demanding strict actions against the accused. (KNO)
