Khatana criticizes Congress for disempowerment of Muslims

Jammu, Sep 18: In a strong critique of the Congress party, BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Er. Gulam Ali Khatana accused the Congress of deliberately keeping Muslims illiterate and disempowered during its decades-long rule in India.
Addressing polling booth meetings at Narwal, Bathindi, and Sunjwan in Jammu, Khatana urged the Muslim community to reject the fear politics allegedly promoted by Congress and instead support the BJP, which is focused on the empowerment of all communities under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. “It is the responsibility of every citizen in this country to keep the NC, Congress, and PDP out of power, as these parties have plunged the nation into darkness. I urge the people of Jammu and Kashmir to vote for the BJP and choose a brighter future,” he added.
“Congress used Muslims as a vote bank for seventy years, keeping them deliberately uneducated and marginalized,” Khatana stated. “Now, the party is creating fear among the community to continue exploiting them for political gain.”
Khatana’s remarks came as part of a broader address aimed at encouraging Muslim voters to see beyond the rhetoric of the Congress and recognize the BJP’s efforts to uplift all sections of society. The Congress party’s historical approach to Muslims has been one of manipulation, with the party keeping them in a state of dependency through inadequate education and socio-economic opportunities.
“The Congress party survived by dividing people and exploiting their fears. For seventy years, they kept Muslims illiterate and economically weak so they could control their votes without offering real progress. Today, the same party is playing a new game by instilling fear in the community,” Khatana said during his address. He emphasized that Muslims should not fall prey to Congress’s divisive tactics.
The Rajya Sabha MP praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for fostering inclusivity and progress for all citizens, regardless of religion, caste, or region. Khatana asserted that the country is steadily advancing toward becoming a global leader, a goal he argued could only be achieved with the participation and empowerment of every segment of Indian society, including Muslims.
“India is on the path to becoming a world leader, and this vision can’t be realized without the involvement of all communities. The Modi government is committed to the welfare of every citizen, without discrimination,” Khatana said, reaffirming the BJP’s stance on inclusive governance. “There is no need to fear under the Modi government. We are dedicated to the empowerment of all citizens, including Muslims, and providing them with equal opportunities.”
The BJP leader also accused Congress of fueling communal tensions for political survival. The Congress party continues to rely on fear-mongering and division to maintain its voter base, particularly among minority communities. He argued that such tactics have not only harmed national unity but also stunted the socio-economic progress of the very groups the Congress claims to represent.
“The Congress party thrives on communal and divisive politics. It has done more harm than good to this nation by perpetuating fear and insecurity among minorities,” Khatana remarked. “In contrast, the BJP is focused on unity, growth, and the betterment of all citizens.”
