Srinagar, Oct 28: As a step toward fostering a stronger public-police relationship, the authorities have inaugurated a dedicated Public Grievance Cell at the CID headquarters in Srinagar.
Launched by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) CID, Nitish Kumar, this initiative seeks to create a streamlined platform for addressing “public complaints and improving accessibility to essential police services.”
The cell, established under the directives of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, will expedite the resolution of public grievances, offering timely assistance with verification processes and other citizen services.
Sharing the new cell’s role, ADGP Nitesh Kumar on the sideline of the event said the initiative will bridge longstanding gaps in service delivery, enabling the public to experience quicker and more efficient handling of their issues.
“From passport verifications to service-related inquiries, all requests will now be addressed here, simplifying processes and reinforcing trust between the community and the police,” Kumar said.
