Wake up citizens

While drug abuse and other related issues have remained a hot topic for the government as well as the religious clerics in Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Territory is grappling with one more grievous issue, which has claimed few lives and left several people injured as well. The incidents of stabbing across Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed a rise in the past one year while the latest such incident was reported on Tuesday when a student was injured after he was stabbed with the sharp-edged weapon by another youth near Sri Pratap College here. Such incidents involving youngsters is shameful, but at the same time raises concern among the citizens in the society. However, at this juncture, the society must not act as mute spectator, but need to act swiftly to put an end to the evil acts that can prove detrimental to the society if these incidents continue. These incidents are pivotally putting the responsibility on the shoulders of the people for taking care of their children, especially when they are out with their friends. The parents need to raise the children in a cordial atmosphere that would help to understand how much the family matters for them, and also how important it is for them to maintain the dignity and respect of their parents. Besides, the religious clerics along with the local committees should work hard in their respective areas and ensure all the evils are put to an immediate end so that the next generation would get a pleasant atmosphere and environment within their locality.
