PM, HM, LG, Omar, ors condole demise

Srinagar, Nov 1: The death of MLA Nagrota and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Devinder Singh Rana was widely condoled with the local people at his residence mourning the passing away of the business tycoon, who died on Thursday evening at Faridabad hospital in Delhi.
As soon as the news of his demise spread, the people from different walks of the life started thronging his residence at Gandhinagar where they paid glowing tributes to the deceased leader.
The BJP leaders in Srinagar also organized a condolence meeting wherein they paid glowing tributes to the leader.
The Jammu and Kashmir BJP also said his untimely demise is a great loss to the party and to the people of J&K. “His contribution and dedication to society will always be remembered. May his soul rest in peace, and may God provide strength to his family to bear this irreparable loss,” the party posted on X.
The political leaders including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and others condoled his demise.
Prime Minister expressed shock at the death of BJP MLA. He said the deceased leader plated a noteworthy role in making BJP stronger in J&K.
“Shri Devender Singh Rana Ji’s untimely demise is shocking. He was a veteran leader, who worked diligently towards Jammu and Kashmir’s progress. He had just won the Assembly polls and had also played a noteworthy role in making the BJP stronger in J&K. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with his family and supporters. Om Shanti,” PM Modi wrote on X.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed sorrow over his demise. “I am deeply saddened by the untimely demise of senior Jammu and Kashmir BJP leader and MLA from Nagrota Assembly Devendra Singh Rana. He was always dedicated to the peace and development of Jammu and Kashmir and the interests of the people, made an invaluable contribution to the progress of the region. I express my condolences to his family and supporters.”
The brother of deceased leader, who is also the Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Singh termed the demise of Devender Singh Rana as “deep personal loss” for him.
“Untimely demise of my brother Sh Devender Singh Rana is a deep personal loss, which is not only irreparable and painful, but the void created will continue to haunt me for the rest of my life .I sincerely thank all those standing by me and the family in these testing times,” Dr Jitendra wrote on X.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over Rana’s demise. “In his passing, we have lost a patriotic and widely respected leader who was committed to the well-being of the people of J&K. I extend my deepest condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti,” Office of LG J&K wrote.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, also took to the X and shared a couple of his pictures with the deceased leader while posting an emotional message. “The terrible news from late last night isn’t really sinking in. I know the last few years have been marked by our differences, Devender, but I prefer to focus on the fun times we shared together, the excellent work we did together and the memories.” “You have been taken from us all too soon and will be missed. May your soul rest in peace now, DSR. My heart goes out to your family as I struggle to find the words to convey my condolences to them,” he wrote.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary also expressed condolences. “This news is especially disheartening on an auspicious day (Diwali). My condolences are extended to his family and PMO @DrJitendraSingh ji on the loss of his younger brother. Deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Om Shanti,” Choudhary wrote on X.
Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti also offered her condolences. “Shocked to hear about the sudden demise of Devender Rana Ji. Deepest condolences to his family and loved ones,” Mehbooba Mufti wrote on X.
JKPCC President and MLA Tariq Hameed Karra also expressed his grief over Rana’s passing.
In a statement, he said, “I am deeply saddened by the demise of MLA Shri Devinder Rana ji. Heartfelt condolences to Rana’s family. My thoughts and prayers are with them at this time of grief. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
DPAP Chief, Ghulam Nabi Azad in a post said he is profoundly saddened over Rana’s demise, saying that his leadership and vision brought hope and progress to countless people.
“I am profoundly saddened by the untimely demise of Devender Singh Rana Ji, whose contributions to Jammu and Kashmir’s development and unwavering dedication to his constituency will be cherished forever. His leadership and vision brought hope and progress to countless people and his presence was a source of strength and guidance for many. In his passing, we have lost not only a devoted leader but also a compassionate soul who always prioritized the well-being of his people. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this moment of immense grief. I pray they find comfort in the countless lives he touched and in the legacy of service and commitment he leaves behind. May his soul find eternal peace,” Azad wrote.
Peoples Conference (PC) Chairman, Sajad Gani Lone in a post prayed for the courage and strength to the bereaved family. “Extremely sad news coming in. Devinder Singh Rana is no more. It is hard to believe that a great human being, and an even greater friend is no more. He was so full life. My thoughts with the bereaved family at this terrible, irreplaceable loss. May they muster the courage and strength to bear this loss. May the departed soul rest in peace,” Sajad Lone posted.
CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami in a post expressed condolences to his family. “Deeply saddened to hear of Davindra Singh Rana’s passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Tarigami posted on X.
Apni Party president, Syed Altaf Bukhari in a post, expressed shock at Rana’s demise. “Shocked & saddened by the untimely death of Devender Singh Rana Ji. I extend my deepest and heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family. In this time of grief and sorrow, I stand in solidarity with them. May the Almighty give them the strength to endure this immense and irreparable loss, and may He grant eternal peace to the departed soul,” Atlaf Bukhari posted.
