Kupwara, Nov 12: A young man tragically lost his life, while another sustained serious injuries in an accident while returning from an Army recruitment rally in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.
Officials said that an accident took place in Natusa area of Kupwara when a scooty collided with a tipper, causing severe injuries to two persons.
One of the injured, identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Qadir Lone from Tulail Gurez, succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital, while another Rehan Ahmed Sheikh, son of Gulab Sheikh of Gurez is currently undergoing treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
In this regard, an investigation has been launched, with a case registered under relevant sections of law to determine the cause of the accident.
The duo was returning from an Army recruitment rally held in Panzgam, Kupwara, when the unfortunate accident occurred.
“One individual was brought dead, while the injured person is receiving medical attention. After legal procedures, the deceased’s body was handed over to his family,” an health official said. (KNO)
