Jammu, Nov25: While highlighting the need for creating awareness about various labour welfare schemes being implemented by the Government, Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Monday said the same will help in ensuring the benefit percolates to the targeted population.
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing the officers during a meeting convened to review functioning of the Labour Department.
Labour Commissioner, Charandeep Singh, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Assistant Labour Commissioners of Jammu division and other officers were present.
The Deputy Chief Minister asked the officers to regularly hold awareness camps across the Jammu division so that the information about the benefits of different schemes is properly disseminated. “The officers should ensure that these camps are holistic, so that massive participation of stake holders is ensured, besides also educating them about the process to be adopted for availing the benefits under these programmes”, he maintained.
Surinder Choudhary also directed for undertaking regular inspections of various business establishments besides mega projects being undertaken so that the welfare of workers is ensured. He said that there should be no laxity whenever a violation is observed.
He asked the officers to conduct regular inspections of Industrial Estates to gather feedback on production units besides the facilities and working conditions of human resource engaged there. He also asked them to report objectively, so that lacunae if any are addressed properly.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister met several deputations from different districts of J&K who projected their issues and sought immediate redressal of the same
Surinder Choudhary assured them that the Government would ensure time bound redressal of their issues.
