Srinagar, Dec 6: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara on Friday said to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance and cash from their possession.
“A Police party of Police Station Kupwara arrested two drug peddlers during patrolling at Regipora Sumo Stand. They have been identified as Faizan Ahmad Zarger son of Reyaz Ahmad Zarger and Tulha Zarger son of Late Gh Hassan Zarger, both residents of Tikker, Kupwara. During search, 4 grams of Brown Sugar and Cash amounting to Rs 35,000/- have been recovered from their possession,” a police spokesman said in a statement.
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 279/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kupwara and investigation has been initiated.
J&K Police remains committed to curbing the menace of drug abuse and trafficking in the valley. The public is urged to cooperate by providing information related to drug-related activities to local police stations, police said.
