Srinagar, Dec 7: The government is determined to unlock the tourism potential of unexplored regions, turning them into thriving destinations to boost local economies and provide livelihoods, Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives, and Elections, Javid Ahmad Dar said on Saturday.
The Minister, laid a foundation stone for the Ladwa-Siterwan road, the 2.5-kilometer road, estimated to the cost of Rs 20 lakh, which will pave the way for access to a unexplored destination with untapped tourism opportunities.
Developing such regions is a key priority for the government; the Minister emphasized and said that no area with tourism potential will be left ignored.
“We are committed to ensuring that no area with tourism potential is left ignored. By investing in these unexplored destinations, we aim to create livelihoods for local communities and make tourism a major economic driver,” he stated.
Acknowledging resource constraints, the Minister assured that efforts would be made to accelerate infrastructure projects. “Despite a limited budget, we are focused on developing these regions at a rapid pace. This road project is an important step in connecting Siterwan to other destinations like Kiterdaji,” he added.
“The project, currently in its infancy, is expected to pick up momentum by April-May next year,” he said, adding that the initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of fostering rural development through sustainable tourism. (KNO)
