Kabra reviews progress on implementation of JJM in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 7: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Jal Shakti, Shaleen Kabra Saturday chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat here to review the progress on implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) across Kashmir province.
The meeting was attended by MD JJM, Dr. G.N Ittoo; Chief Engineers of PHE and I&FC of Jammu/Kashmir, Director Planning, Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers of all wings of Kashmir division and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, the ACS took detailed assessment on progress of JJM mission, development of sources, Electro-Mechanical works, Har Ghar Jal Certification, progress on languishing projects under CAPEX and NABARD schemes as well as consultant reports and third party monitoring reports.
During the review, the ACS expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the implementation of JJM but emphasized on the need for faster execution of works and better coordination between various agencies involved.
He stressed upon the officers for completion of JJM mission as per the assigned time line.
The ACS also called upon the MD JJM and Superintending Engineers for completion of Har Gar Jal certification process on priority. He also called upon the officers for maintaining quality of works while executing these projects. He further asked them to put all work details including e-tendering process in public domain for information of general masses.
The ACS urged the officers to expedite the ongoing works at all major project sites in order to meet the assigned timeline. He also emphasized on utilizing modern technology for real-time monitoring of water quality and distribution.
The ACS stressed on the officers for prompt redressal of grievances related to water quality.
During the meeting, MD JJM gave a detailed presentation on progress made on implementation of JJM across Kashmir province.
