Srinagar, Feb 12: Senior National Conference leader and cabinet minister Sakeena Itoo on Wednesday said discussions over the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir are going on and that they are expecting it to be restored soon.
Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Sakeena said that discussions regarding the restoration of statehood are going on.
Terming statehood as the right of J&K people, she said a resolution in this regard was passed in the assembly as well, adding that Home Minister Amit Shah has already made commitments over the restoration of statehood in the Parliament.
Earlier, Itoo, who is the Minister for Health and Medical Education, said that directions were passed for the release of salaries to National Health Mission (NHM) employees.
In a post on X, Itoo said the government is committed to the welfare of healthcare workers and ensuring timely support.
“Have passed the directions for the release of salaries of NHM employees. The government remains committed to the welfare of healthcare workers and ensuring timely support for their invaluable services,” she said.
Earlier, NHM employees had raised concerns over the delayed salary and urged the government to address the issue at the earliest.
