Srinagar, Mar 17: Terming the Bilawar killings and Kulgam incident as unfortunate Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Monday said that the government is duty bound to ensure the safety of the citizens.
Pertinently, three relatives, including a minor were found dead in upper reaches of Bilawar in Rajouri District after they went missing. In yet another incident three Gujjar youth went missing from Kulgam district in South Kashmir, bodies of two among them were recovered from Vaishow Nallah, while the search for another youth is on.
Talking to reporters here, Choudhary said, “The government in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be weakened by different tactics. Incidents like Billawar killings, three persons going missing from Kulgam are unfortunate.”
“The Lieutenant Governor, who has control over the Police, should look into the matter and ensure such incidents are not repeated. J&K has never seen such a situation before. We will expect an end to the killings and Kulgam like incidents.
The deaths in Billawar should be probed thoroughly and the facts should be made public. Those found involved should be dealt with strictly,” The Deputy Chief Minister said, as per KNO.
“The government stands behind the people and will never remain silent. Omar-led government is there for the people and will continue to ensure their safety,” he added.
Moreover, he said, Jammu and Kashmir has seen development only during the rule of National Conference. “Whatever development has taken place in Jammu and Kashmir, be it bridges, roads and other things, has been done by the NC during the tenures of Sheikh Abdullah and Omar Abdullah,” he said.
Furthermore, he said that the Omar-led government has plans to decongest the cities in Jammu and Kashmir amidst the rising number of vehicles and population as well. “We will not redesign the existing projects, but a new bridge is coming up from M.A. Road to Rajbagh,” he said. “The motorable bridge will be completed in a phased manner.”
“On the directions of the Chief Minister, we are trying to find ways to decongest the cities in Jammu and Kashmir regions,” he said. (KNO)
