PM writes history, connects Kashmir with rest of country

Kupwara, May 17: Stating that the world witnessed the courage and resolve of Indian soldiers, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said that India’s firm response brought Pakistan on its knees.
Addressing Army soldiers after visiting the Tangdhar sector here in North Kashmir, Lt Governor said, “Fearing total destruction, Pakistan urged the international community to intervene.”
Narrating the sequence of events, LG Sinha said, “At 3:35 pm on May 10, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan contacted his Indian counterpart to work out an understanding for cessation of hostilities.”
The Lieutenant Governor said that India is not a nation that seeks war. “It’s the fifth-largest economy in the world and soon to be the fourth. Pakistan has now realized that nothing is beyond India’s reach,” he added.
LG Sinha lauded the Indian Army for its bravery and effectiveness in preventing casualties during the recent hostilities. “No deaths were reported, and only three persons sustained minor injuries,” he said.
LG Sinha said that the Government of India by giving a befitting reply to April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 civilians, mostly tourists dead, has sent a strong message to the world that “terrorists can’t hide anywhere.”
Lt Governor said Pakistan had been informed in advance that only terrorist camps and related infrastructure would be targeted. “On the evenings of May 6 and 7, the Indian armed forces conducted precision strikes on nine key terrorist infrastructure sites, avoiding any civilian or Indian military locations. Pakistan retaliated, prompting the Indian Army to respond decisively on May 8, 9, and 10,” he said, adding, “the world witnessed the courage and resolve of our soldiers.
“Our neighbour is bent on destroying humanity on the strength of debt. I think they must have learnt a lesson from the reply given by our brave soldiers. I salute your valour, bravery and devotion towards Maa Bharti and pray to God that whenever such a crisis comes, the people should know that our country is in the safe hands of heroes like you,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He also reviewed the security situation on the ground with army and police officials. He said the country is grateful to our Armed Forces for protecting the lives and ensuring the sanctity of our borders with alertness, dedication, bravery and supreme sacrifice.
“I am confident that our Jawans will firmly deal with any misadventure by the enemy,” the Lieutenant Governor added. (KNO)
