Anantnag, May 22: Acting on the orders of the NDPS Court Anantnag, authorities destroyed seized narcotic substances related to two cases registered under the NDPS Act.
A committee comprising SDPO Railways Anantnag Sartaj Ahmed, SHO GRPS Inspector Rahul Mahajan, and Naib Tehsildar Anantnag Mohd Furqan Mir supervised the incineration of the drugs at SIDCO Lassipora, Pulwama.
The destroyed contraband included 10.89 kg of poppy straw from FIR No. 03/2019 and 140 grams of cannabis concentrate from FIR No. 03/2023, both registered at Railway Police Station Anantnag.
Railway Police reiterated their commitment to combating drug trafficking and said such actions are vital in ensuring public safety and reinforcing the rule of law. [KNT]
