Viksit Bharat 2047 is the government’s vision to transform the country into a self-reliant and prosperous economy by 2047.Viksit Bharat 2047 is indeed a visionary plan by the Indian government to transform the country into a self-reliant and prosperous economy by 2047, marking the 100th year of India’s independence. This initiative focuses on sustainable development, economic growth, and improving the quality of life for all citizens.Viksit Bharat’ means ‘Developed India.’ Viksit Bharat 2047 is the government’s vision to drive the mission of making India a completely developed nation by its 100th anniversary of independence in 2047. The vision is based on four pillars: Youth, Poor, Women and Farmers.
In 2013, the BJP gave the slogan ‘acche din aane waale hai’, and now, after 11 years, we can say that ‘acche din aye hai’. PM Narendra Modi, marking 11 years of his leadership, affirmed that India has emerged as the fastest-growing major economy and a key global voice on critical issues such as climate action and digital innovation. Reflecting on the journey, he has emphasized that a strong focus on good governance, social justice, and inclusive development has driven the government. Our PM aims to deepen public understanding of India’s development story and inspire greater citizen participation as the country moves forward with its vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047. India has progressed from 11th step to the 4th major economy under PM Modi’s leadership.
In the last 11 years, there has been an effective government, it is decisive, brought in economic discipline; it’s a government formed with people’s participation. It’s a government of transparency. PM Modi gave India a clear vision, a strong irection, and an unwavering commitment to public welfare and nation-first governance. Reflecting on the achievements PM has clearly stated that the past decade has seen rapid changes across diverse sectors, driven by the guiding philosophy of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. Viksit Bharat’s primary goal is to transform India into a developed nation by 2047 through inclusive economic participation for all citizens. It aims to take India’s economy to $30 trillion within just two decades.
From economic growth to social upliftment, BJP Government focus has been all-round and inclusive and India today is not only the fastest-growing major economy but also a key voice in the global arena, particularly on issues like climate action and digital innovation. India has been transformed on many fronts and is ready for take-off. There has been a massive expansion in social and economic infrastructure through policies and schemes in past years .The last decade has witnessed a phenomenal demonstration of our capabilities to transform India. Programmes such as Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi have uplifted millions, placing the welfare of people with low incomes at the centre of governance.
There is no doubt that zero Poverty in Viksit Bharat 2047 is achievable through a multi-dimensional approach towards empowering the underprivileged and promoting inclusive development. About Rs. 630 crores has been disbursed as the first instalment for the chosen PM SHRI schools, and 12 institutions have been announced as Institutions of Eminence. PM Awas Yojana (Gramin) has provided more than 2.5 crore houses, while SBM Gramin and its Phase II have enhanced sanitation through large-scale toilet construction and women-led waste management. The PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission and Digital Mission are strengthening public healthcare and digital connectivity, with thousands of health centres and millions of registered health accounts. The country’s robust defence capabilities are attested by the induction of indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopters and the pioneering Agnipath scheme, which modernises the armed forces with young, high-tech soldiers.
The 11 years of the PM Modi-led government will be written in golden letters because it ushered in changes with wider ramifications on polity, society and economics, and laid the foundations of Viksit Bharat. The abrogation of Article 370, that gave the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir its special status; outlawing Triple Talaq, and passage of the Waqf (amendment) Bill are the illustrations of the government’s bold decisions.
PM Modi has given a “responsive and responsible government to reform, perform and transform”. One would have observed that in the last 11 years, there has not been a single allegation of corruption against the Modi government. As India celebrates 11 transformative years of governance, this moment signifies more than just a milestone — it marks the nation’s inspiring journey towards building a Viksit Bharat. Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Amrit Kaal of a developed India is progressing with a focus on service, good governance, and welfare for the poor.
One must not forget that during the COVID-19 crisis, India led the world as a pharma hub and also ensured free vaccination for over 220 crore doses within the country. Digital health services like e-Sanjeevani conducted over 37 crore teleconsultations. Free COVID treatment and vaccines saved countless lives.
Schemes like PM SVANidhi and Stand-Up India empowered small vendors and entrepreneurs, while over 55 crore Jan Dhan accounts and 77 crore Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries are testimony to a government working for every Indian. June 21 is now celebrated worldwide as International Yoga Day, an enduring symbol of India’s cultural resurgence.
As India’s ruling party celebrates more than a decade in power, the diverging narratives reflect the country’s complex political landscape. Prime Minister’s vision is to actively involve the youth of the country in formulation of national plans, priorities and goals of the country. In line with this vision, ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth’ initiative will provide a platform to the youth of the country to contribute ideas to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. One must remember that it is very important to channelize the innovative ideas of youth into nation-building by inviting them to ideate and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
As India works towards realizing the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, it is clear that the future holds immense promise and potential for growth and development. With collective effort and determination, India can achieve its goal of becoming a self-reliant and prosperous nation by 2047 as the journey to Viksit Bharat 2047 is a testament to India’s resilience and determination, and its success will depend on the active participation of all its citizens.
