Srinagar, Jun 20: Amid the intense heatwave, the youth in Srinagar’s downtown including Gojwara, Khanyar and other places set up roadside stalls for making people feel cool by offering them refreshments in the form of drinks.
At Gojwara Chowk, local shopkeepers Salman Bhat, Rufaid Bhat and Sahil Bhat installed a temporary stall with rose water and chilled drinks, offering them to commuters, pedestrians.
“People looked drained. We just thought a cool drink might help,” Salman told KNO.
Similarly, in Khanyar and other localities, similar scenes were witnessed with people offering drinks to passersby.
Notably, at 35.5°C, Srinagar recorded the highest June temperature since the year 2005. (KNO)
