BJP’s stand on statehood exposed: Dy CM

Srinagar, Nov 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Youth National Conference on Saturday said the youth of Kashmir are going through the toughest phase with the unemployment rate in J&K crossing 22 percent leading to large-scale anxiety among our educated youth.
This was said by Party’s Provincial Youth President Salman Ali Sagar, while addressing a provincial meeting of YNC, here at the party headquarters Nawa e Subha, Srinagar. The meeting was marked by provocative interaction between the functionaries and was attended by YNC’s Block presidents and other provincial and zonal functionaries.
Addressing the functionaries, Salman expressed concern over drug addiction and substance abuse among youth. Ascribing the spike in the drug menace among youth to scathing unemployment, undue reprisals and intimidation, political uncertainty, Salman said Kashmiri youth have been at the receiving end of the years of policy paralysis, political void and administrative inertia.
He further said that breeding confidence and infusing trust among our youth remains a daunting challenge, which the incumbent government has failed to hit. In these circumstances, YNC has a pivotal role to play and walk shoulder to shoulder with them and spare no effort to raise issues concerning them.
On the occasion, the YNC functionaries expressed unison with the kin of Hyderpora slain civilians. They demanded that the ongoing probe be brought to its logical conclusion and the findings shared with the public. Such incidents, the functionaries maintained prove abortive in peace building.
