Srinagar, Nov 29: Power crisis in Srinagar’s Haba Kadal area sparked a protest on Monday. Female protesters at Chinkar Mohalla blocked the road and disrupted vehicular movement.
The protesters said that for the past 4 days, the locality has been reeling under darkness. “When we approach any concerned official, he suggests that we visit the PDD Head Office. We are womenfolk and can’t visit the head office again and again,” said the protesters.
Shouting anti-PDD slogans, the protesters blocked the road for several hours, disrupting the traffic movement.
“At a time when the power department claims to provide better power supply in winters but the electricity in our area remains off for days,” they said.
They also said that electric wires in the area have been worn out and need replacement. (KNT)
