Jammu, Nov 29: Barely 18 days after the staff at the DRDO hospital in Jammu was repatriated, the employees were called back and re-deployed at the hospital after Covid cases showed a sudden spike in Jammu region.

“By the first week of December, the CT scan machine will be available to general Public,” the official said, adding that the hospital has adequate oxygen facility available to deal with any situation.
“We are well prepared for the possible third wave and to deal with increasing number of cases,” he said.
Pertinently, two DRDO hospitals one each in Jammu and Srinagar were constructed by DRDO during peak second wave of Covid-19. Each hospital has 500 bed including 120 ICU beds.
He advised that if people they come to the hospital in the early stages of infection, chances of recovery are more and people should follow Covid appropriate behavior in letter and spirit.
Dr Narinder Bhatial Medical superintendent at DRDO hospital told KNO that hospital was never closed but as there was no patient admitted so staff as per government order was repatriated, however, as cases have surged again and patients have been started to admit at the hospital, staff is being re-deployed.
He said that as cases will increase, more staff was re-deployed and re-deploying of staff will depend upon cases.
