Srinagar, Dec 14: The aspirants who have applied for post of assistant compiler advertised by Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) have accused the board authorities of allotting them inconvenient centres.
Aspirants said that the JKSSB has fixed the exam centres very far from their residences despite having exam centres in nearby districts.
“I am an aspirant from Kulgam district and applied for the post of assistant compiler (finance), but when I downloaded my admit card I was shocked to find that board has set my examination center at Tappar Baramulla which is around 150 kilometres from my residence with reporting time at 10 am,” an aspirant said.
“I don’t have any relatives in the area and reaching the exam centre which is around 150 kms away at 10 am is impossible,” an aspirant said.
He said that most of the friends living in my neighbourhood as per the admit cards have been allotted examination centre in Anantnag where they can easily reach from Kulgam.
Another candidate from Rafiabad area of Baramulla said that his examination centre has been fixed in Srinagar despite having an examination centre in Baramulla,” he said.
“It is not possible for me to reach Srinagar at 10 am, there are high chances that I won’t be able to appear in the examination if the centre won’t be changed,” he said.
“This is the height of non-seriousness on the part of authorities. In this bone chilling cold, centres should have been allotted in home districts or in adjacent districts but allotting centres at faraway places is injustice,” he said.
The aspirants requested authorities to look into the matter and keep the examination centre of all candidates in the home district or an adjacent district so that everyone would be able to appear in the examination.
Despite repeated attempts, the JKSSB Chairman wasn’t available for comment on the issue.
