DC inspects District Hospital Bandipora

Reviews healthcare facilities, winter preparedness

Bandipora, Dec 16: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Thursday paid a surprise visit to District Hospital Bandipora to take stock of healthcare facilities being provided to the patients and review the winter preparedness in the hospital.
He was accompanied by Chairman Municipal Council Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad, Medical Superintendent Dr Mushtaq Ahmad and other senior officers of the district.
Dr Owais visited various wards and sections of the hospital including emergency section, operation theatre, ECG unit, X-ray, gynae, post operation ward, newly established Blood Bank and labs. He enquired about the availability of doctors, duty schedule of doctors, medicines, diagnostics and other facilities available in the hospital.
The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the patients and their attendants to get the feedback about healthcare facilities in the hospital besides enquiring about their wellbeing.
During the visit, the DC took a review of quality healthcare, emergency services, critical care, trauma management, intensive care units, referrals, sanitation, blood bank, non-communicable diseases, power auditing, implementation of Ayushman Bharat and other government sponsored schemes in the district hospital.
He also reviewed the winter preparedness and directed the officers to ensure heating arrangement in all the hospitals. He said in case of snowfall first road to be cleared from snow will be the roads leading to hospital.
Medical Superintendent informed the DC about the healthcare facilities being provided by the hospital besides apprising him about various issues.
Dr Owais directed the hospital administration to maintain complete hygiene in and around the hospital and impressed upon the hospital management to ensure proper heating arrangements in the hospital.
