DC Srinagar for adopting Good Governance practices

Srinagar, Dec 18: In wake of upcoming “Good Governance Week” to be celebrated from December 20 to December 25, 2021, under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Saturday chaired an Officers meeting here at Meeting hall of DC Office Complex with regard to finalizing and monitoring the activities to be held by different departments.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed all the officers to submit day wise detailed plans of the activities to be held by their respective departments. He asked them to ensure such programmes are undertaken during the “Good Governance Week” which are implemented on ground for the welfare and overall development of the general public.
The Deputy Commissioner said the “Good Governance week” would symbolize the strides in promoting citizen centric governance and improving service delivery. He said the event also provides us an opportunity to redress public grievances and Improve service delivery mechanisms so that people are benefited at grass root level.
He stressed on officers to organize special camps/events at Tehsil Headquarters/Panchayat levels to sensitize people about different Government welfare schemes besides uploading and sharing the progress and achievements.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to adopt Good Governance practices while redressing the public grievances and in the public delivering system so that common people do not face any inconvenience for want of basic amenities or while availing benefits of government sponsored welfare schemes.
Earlier, a detailed PowerPoint presentation was given to the deputy Commissioner about various government sponsored welfare schemes besides initiates
Chief Planning Officer, Srinagar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deputy Director Employment and all Sectoral/District officers were present in the meeting.
