Srinagar, Feb 7: Congress party Monday staged a protest against a recent acid attack on a girl and appealed to the government to rehabilitate the victim.
The protest was led by Congress president for Srinagar district Abdul Gani Khan.
Pertinently, Kashmir witnessed public outrage over the acid attack on a 24-year-old girl in Srinagar, even as the police arrested three persons, including the main accused, in the incident.
The protesters assembled at Press Enclave Srinagar and termed the incident “the worst example of violence against women”. “There is no place for any such action in any civilized society. We stand by the victim in this hour of pain and hope the government will rehabilitate her. We are ready to support the victim financially,” they said. (KNT)
