Coronavirus: Seven die, 771 test positive in JK

Srinagar, Feb 8: Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported seven deaths and another spike of 771 cases pushing the number of active cases to 12,358 in the UT.
With seven more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,728 and 771 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 448,105.
Of the exact number of 448,105 cases, 285,107 are from Kashmir division and 162,998 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 771 new cases, 363 belong to Kashmir division while as 408 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 285,107 including 274,411 recoveries and 2,412 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 162,998 including 156,608 recoveries and 2,316 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 12,358 including 8,284 from Kashmir division and 4,074 from Jammu division.
With 3,330 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 431,019 which is 96.19 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 172 from Srinagar, 22 from Baramulla, 62 from Budgam, 12 from Pulwama, 20 from Kupwara, 24 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 28 from Ganderbal, 16 from Kulgam and 03 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 408 from Jammu division include 238 from Jammu district, 20 from Udhampur, 18 from Rajouri, 58 from Doda, 18 from Kathua, 05 from Samba, 04 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 36 from Ramban and 07 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 101,335 positive cases including 904 deaths and 96,872 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,382 including 303 deaths and 35,475 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,575 including 33,836 recoveries and 234 deaths are from Budgam, 18,345 including 17,905 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,472 including 172 deaths and 20,709 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,338 including 21,444 recoveries and 218 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,590 cases including 13,197 and 118 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,546 including 13,162 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,245 including 15,762 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,279 including 6,049 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 74,732 including 71,691 recoveries and 1,219 deaths are from Jammu district, 14,557 including 14,312 recoveries and 146 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,717 including 12,374 recoveries and 248 deaths are from Rajouri, 10,763 including 9,717 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Doda, 11,219 including 10,815 recoveries and 164 deaths are from Kathua, 9,027 including 8,735 recoveries and 124 deaths are from Samba, 5,790 including 5,611 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,682 including 7,408 recoveries and 109 deaths are from Poonch, 7,862 including 7,516 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,629 including 8,429 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,895,983 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 30,476 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 12,358 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,411,733 persons have completed the surveillance period and 436,688 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 21,985,908 samples are available. Out of 21,985,908 the number of samples tested negative stands at 21,537,803 while as 448,105 have tested positive, among them 12,358 persons are active, 430,019 persons have recovered and 4,728 persons have died.
