Budgam, Feb 9: An elderly man’s body was recovered in Brenwar area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.
Official sources said that a body of an elderly man was found by locals near power grid station Brenwar, Chadoora, who later informed the police accordingly.
Body was recovered from the spot and sent to GMC Srinagar.
Police in a statement said that after receiving an information that a male body is lying near Power Receiving Station Branwar Chadoora, SHO of Police Station Chadoora rushed to the spot.
“The police party found a male body of almost aged 55-60 years, grey hair and beard,” the statement read, adding that “preliminary examination of the body suggested that the death might be caused due to cold and no visible mark of violence was found on the body. The body has been taken for medico-legal formalities.”
Deceased has been identified as Abdul Raheem Bhat son of Abdul Gaffar, a resident of Noorbagh, Srinagar, who was missing since three weeks and the body will be handed over to his legal heirs while further investigations have been started,” said a police official.
