Ganderbal, Mar 8: A residential house was gutted in a fire that broke out in Shahjinag Urpash area of Nunner in Ganderbal district on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said that fire broke out in a residential house belonging to Muhammad Ashraf Khan, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Khan of Shahjinag Urpash Ganderbal.
The firefighters and locals doused the flames and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby houses, they said, adding that the residential house suffered partial damage.
The cause of the fire is being ascertained, an official added.
Meanwhile, the locals said that the property worth lakhs of rupees got damaged in the blaze.
Moreover, police has taken cognizance of the fire incident and has started investigation into the matter. (KNO)
