Keep Kashmir connected

There are thousands of families that are pinning hope over the government’s favourable decision of regularization for a long. But, all that they have faced so far is the frequent withholding of salaries of their sole bread earners, their protests and their overburdened work at the departments. One fails to understand why their plights are being ignored from the past several decades. The Srinagar’s Press Enclave and Jammu’s press colony, besides district headquarters have witnessed hundreds of protests so far by the daily wagers and other temporary employees. Similarly, Jammu city has witnessed a fresh protest by the daily wagers, casual labourers and other needy base workers of Jal Shakti department with regard to the particular issue. However, the demands continue to remain unfulfilled, thus leaving the temporary employees as well as their families to lurch at large. There are people who question the dilly dallying tactics of the successive regimes so far with regard to the regularization process of these temporary employees. Every successive regime has so far termed the regularization of these employees as genuine demand, but the fate of these temporary employees continues to hang in the balance. The million dollar question remains who is going to set things in the right direction and who is going to put an end to the miseries of thousands of these employees, whose future is presently at bleak. There is a need to come up with a favourable decision in this regard so that the hardships being faced by the temporary employees would end once for all and their families, especially children, could heave a sigh of relief.
