DC Sgr asks officers to convene Gram Sabhas for prioritising plan for public works

Srinagar, Apr 16: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Saturday chaired a meeting of Officers at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex, here to review the progress of developmental works being executed under NABARD and SAMAGRA SHIKSHA for year 2022-23 in the district.
Superintendent Engineer R&B, Chief Planning Officer, Srinagar, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Executive Engineer, PHE Hydraulic, Executive Engineer CD-Ist, SAMAGRA SHIKSHA School Education Department and other concerned were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held with regard to physical and financial progress of the works taken up under NABARD component by R&B, PHE and Health Departments in congruence with the developmental needs of the district.
The meeting also held deliberations to review the progress and present status of works taken up under SAMAGRA SHIKSHA for infrastructure upgradation of Government Schools in Srinagar District.
On the occasion, the DC was apprised about the present status of various ongoing projects and was given feedback about physical and financial status of all the works taken up in current fiscal.
While reviewing the works being executed under NABARD for year 2022-23, the DC directed the concerned Officers and Engineers to speed up the pace of all approved works taken up for development of roads, water supply augmentation and ensure their timely completion so that people are benefitted.
He also asked them to incorporate the developmental plans for road widening, upgradation and macadamization proposed in Gram Sabhas for actual requirements of the public. He further asked them to conduct joint site visits particularly in rural and far-flung areas of the district for on spot plan preparation and authorization.
The DC emphasized on early completion of all the approved projects. He stressed on regular monitoring of works and asked the officers to follow deadlines and complete the work within a given timeframe. He enjoined upon concerned officers and agencies to work with dedication so that all developmental targets are achieved.
With regard to implementation and execution of works being executed for development and upgradation of infrastructure of Government Schools under SAMAGRA SHIKSHA for infrastructure upgradation of in Srinagar District, the DC was informed that 30 works were taken during current fiscal out of which 13 works have been completed while 8 works are in progress.
The DC directed the Chief Education Officer and Executive Engineer CD-Ist, SAMAGRA SHIKSHA to undertake visits to remaining 12 approved sites with assistance of concerned Revenue authorities and submit a factual report within one week so that further necessary action is taken.
