A traffic official said that the traffic department in Jammu & Kashmir is running awareness campaigns on streets, in colleges and several other places of public importance to create awareness among the locals to avoid traffic violation.
He said that the department in the recent years has tried to improve its ways of imposing fine. “Our emphasis is clearly on e-chalans so that transparency is promoted,” he said.
ADGP Traffic J&K, T. Namgyal said that the most of the challans registered are against those committing “visible offences.” “Traffic scenario has largely improved across UT,” he said.
