They said around 20,000 fish were being presently fed  in the said farm with an average weight of each fish about one kilogram.

The said owner had decided to start sale of the fish in coming days for the first time since the establishment of this fish farm, however, before creating a sale point, some unknown persons allegedly put some  poisonous substance into the said fish farm  resulting in the death of huge number of fish causing huge financial losses to the  owner.

A police team from Police Station Aragam and officials from Fisheries Department visited the fish farm to take stock of the situation.

An official said that investigation has been taken up. He said prima facie it seems an act of mischief committed by someone on the basis of personal animosity with a design to cause major financial losses to the owner. (KNT)
