Budgam, May 9: A 25-year-old youth was killed late Sunday evening when two persons attacked him on his head in Budgam.
The deceased identified as Fayaz Ahmed Najar son of Abdul Rashid Najar of Gurwaith Khansaib was travelling on a motorcycle at Kachwari Khansahib area in Budgam when the duo attacked him.
A senior police officer said that Najar was on a bike and two persons hit him on his head with some blunt object leaving him critically injured.
He was shifted to Sub district hospital Khansahib where doctors referred him to SKIMS Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police on Monday arrested two persons who assaulted the youth to death, he said. They were identified as Tahir Bashir Khan son of Bashir Ahmed Khan and Hilal Ahmed Lone son of Abdul Ganie Lone residents of Kachwari Khansaib.
However family members of the deceased youth held protests in their native village chanting slogans, “We want justice”, “Hang the culprit” and Qatil ko “Pesh karo”.
Parents of the deceased youth said that they want justice with them so that such crimes are not repeated.
