Srinagar, May 17: Four soldiers were rescued after their boat capsized due to windstorm in Wullar Lake at Bangladesh area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.
An official said that the incident took place after a strong windstorm hit the parts of North Kashmir this afternoon.
They said that soldiers were part of CASO when their boat capsized following which a massive rescue operation was launched by the army. The four drowned troopers have been rescued and were rushed to the hospital.
Earlier in Srinagar’s Dal Lake, tourists and locals were evacuated to safer locations as a precaution after strong winds were blowing in the area. (KNO)
