Baramulla, May 17: The body of a woman, who jumped into river Jhelum, following a fire incident at her house, was found and retrieved from river in Boniyar area of Uri in Baramulla district, officials said Tuesday
The officials said that a residential house was engulfed in a fire today afternoon following which the local police station was informed and the personnel rushed to the spot along with the firefighters.
The three-storey house was destroyed during fire incident but not enduring it, a woman from the same house jumped into the nearby river following which a rescue operation was launched.
However, a few hours later, the woman’s body identified as Tanzeema Begum was fished out from the river by the SDRF unit and locals and was shifted to hospital for legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a case under relevant sections of laws has been registered at a concerned police station.
